Sedation Dentistry Downtown Miami
You will drive yourself to your dental appointment. Most patients arrive feeling relaxed knowing that they will be sedated by Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen during their visit.

After being seated in the dental chair, a comfortable mask will be put over your nose and will give you pure oxygen. The Nitrous Oxygen mixture will be adjusted to a level that is comfortable for you and adjusted throughout the appointment to meet your needs.

After you receive dental work, the dentist will turn off the Nitrous Oxide and you’ll be given pure oxygen until you feel normal. When the effects have worn off completely, you will feel awake and alert, as usual. You probably won’t remember much from your appointment. You can then return home and continue with your day.

Is Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) Safe?

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax.

Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” is one option Dr. Roth or Dr. Schuetz may offer to help make your visit more comfortable during certain procedures. It is not intended to put you to sleep. You will be able to hear and respond to any requests or directions the dentist may have.
